Composition

Each g of cream contains the standardised extracts of:
Ficus tsejela & Ficus nervosa in cream base

Indication

Recommended for symptomatic relief in cold sores and genital infections caused by the Herpes simplex virus.

Dosage

Wash your hands before and after using the cream. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area five times a day. You should space each application by four hours. If your cold sore has not healed after 4 days, or your genital herpes sore has not healed after 5 days, you may use the cream for 5 more days. If the affected area has still not healed after this, stop using the cream and consult your healthcare practitioner.

Pharmacology

Ficus tsejela:

F. tsejela have been used in traditional Indian medicine to treat sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea and genital ulcers. The water extract of F. tsejela extract has a direct virus-inactivating activity and it directly inhibits viral attachment and entry and limits the production of viral progeny.  Therefore, F. tsejela extract helps to protect against herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), the main causative agent of genital ulcers and sores.

Ficus nervosa:

Ficus nervosa extract helps to fasten the rate of wound closure and epithelization period and significant increase in skin breaking strength. F. nervosa have also been used in traditional Indian medicine to treat sexually transmitted infections.
